Cecily strong

  Cecily Legler Strong was born February 8, 1984. She is an American actor and comedian. Strong is well-known for being an Saturday Night Live cast member between 2012 to 2022. She's also the longest-running female member of the cast in the history of the show. Strong was cast for SNL while performing improv in The Second City in Chicago in the city she later moved to following her graduation from CalArts. She is the present host of the Apple TV+ musical comedy program Schmigadoon! She is also co-producing the show (2021-2024).



 



 She also voices The Awesomes (2013 to 2015) in addition to supporting roles in movies like Ghostbusters and The Meddler. In 2015 she hosted the White House Correspondents' Dinner. In 2021, her debut book, The Memoir This Is Going to be Over Soon Soon, was published.



 



 She was nominated at the Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Series and Saturday Night Live.



 



 Early life



 Strong was born in Springfield Illinois and grew up in Oak Park (an inner-ring suburb of Chicago). Strong is the daughter of Penelope and William "Bill" Strong, who was the Associated Press bureau chief and until 2013 was running his own firm of public relations. Penny Legler Strong is a nurse practitioner, and has worked extensively at area hospitals. Strong's parents are divorced. Strong was fascinated by SNL from an early age. She was a fan of reenacting sketches with a friend as well as watching the old SNL commercials on VHS. "I had a tape containing the best commercials that I used every day.
